With over 60 years of legacy and excellence since the 1950s, National Agro Industries has been at the forefront of agricultural innovation in India.
The journey began in 1956 as a small cottage industry in Punjab, even before tractors were introduced in Indian agriculture. Driven by a vision to support farmers with innovative solutions, the company achieved a major milestone in 1965 by developing India’s first ox-driven seed cum fertilizer drill. With the advancement of mechanization, 1972 marked another breakthrough with the introduction of India’s first tractor-operated seed cum fertilizer drill. Building on this momentum, the President of India, Mr. Giani Zail Singh, visited to witness this national innovation, National Agro Industries was officially established in 1976 in Ludhiana, Punjab, India.
Continuing its legacy of innovation, the company introduced India’s first axial flow vegetable seed extractor in 1983 and became the first exporter of agricultural machinery from India by supplying seed extractors to the FAO, United Nations. A defining moment came in 1993, when National Agro Industries became the first company in South Asia to introduce Zero Till / No Till technology—revolutionizing farming practices and promoting sustainable agriculture.
From its humble beginnings to becoming a pioneer in agricultural mechanization, the history of National Agro Industries reflects a strong commitment to innovation, quality, and empowering farmers across India and the world.
